Sketch book – artist Jacqueline Hammond
There’s several ideas for works in this series I’ve ‘thumbnailed’ in my sketch book.

Building up to the May festival and Artists Open Houses by resolving some of the paintings hanging around my home studio. I’ve yet to get to the seafront and give my gallery space the spring clean it deserves, ready to hang some new pieces. This won’t happen until the kids are back at school. There’s more paintings there that are missing the final details that bring a piece together.
With much of the UK having been stricken with floods during early 2014, it may be hard to imagine summer in full-swing but the weather is on the upturn. Spring is here and its time to get out there!
I’ve been getting more daring, even attempted a walk in the woods for an Easter egg hunt, but I’ve have been thinking what a battering the garden’s taken over the winter months.
I’d like to introduce Nadine Rose who has become a stockist of my designs. We met at the trade show in Birmingham, where she took an interest in my work. She has just launched her boutique and online store www.nadinerose.co.uk. I’d like others to hear the story and motives behind her enterprise which as rich in heritage as the decorative textiles she’s so passionate about.
The Discovery Museum in Newcastle will be exhibiting and selling my Poppy Cushions in their gift shop to coincide with World War One Centenary events.

The coffee table book format is a first but I was originally featured in an early issue of Brighton’s Arty Magazine back in 2009.

Brighton’s Arty Magazine was dreamed up by Torben and Alison Krog. They applied 40 years’ of publishing experience to produce a magazine that celebrates the creative talents on their doorstep.
About this book:
Ten magazines, four directories, one charity art auction and a pop-up gallery later, we’re delighted to launch the very first book by Kemp Street Productions. And although it’s our names on the cover, we hope that everyone who bought into the concept will share our sense of ownership. Brighton’s Artists 2014 has only been possible due to the support and trust we have received from the tremendously talented creative community we live in. We think this may be the first publication of its kind. And there’s only one city that could have produced it. That’s Brighton & Hove.
On the website -
In the Editions area you’ll find back issues of Brighton’s Arty Magazines and Directories since we first launched in 2009. The People section brings together many of the fabulous artists we have featured over the past four years.
